Sex offender who Recorded Woman Bathing Tells Police he was Checking if Phone was Water-Proof

 A man was arrested on charges of voyeurism after recording a woman in a shower, police in the United Kingdom said. Plymouth Police said that 18-year-old Zak Hardy, told investigators that he placed his new phone in the shower in order to test if it was really waterproof. 

The teen said that while he was wiping his phone, he accidentally activated the camera. Prosecutors told the Exeter Magistrate’s Court, that Hardy held the phone above his head and pointed it at another shower in order to record the woman. Hardy pleaded guilty to voyeurism.

The naked woman in the shower told police that when she saw a light above her shower, she grabbed a towel and covered herself. She left, and notified the authorities. Hardy was sentenced to 18 months probation, and he was ordered to pay 150 pounds ($242) compensation. Police destroyed the teen’s mobile phone and Hardy was ordered to register on the sex offender list for five years.
