The bodies of two lovers identified as Udogi Eguke and Ese were discovered in an apartment in Makolomi street, Ughelli north local government area of Delta State last Sunday. The landlord of the apartment, Chief Alfred Onavwa, explained that the absence of one of the deceased was brought to his notice by other tenants.

He after being informed by the other tenant, he made a call to the deceased number only to find out the mobile phone was ringing upstairs with a bad smell oozing out of the apartment. He said upon this discovery, he immediately alerted the police.

“On getting close to the door of the private stairway leading to their apartment, I noticed that it was locked from inside, with a stench oozing out.

“On realizing this, I personally invited the police who came and broke the door only to discover their decomposing bodies.

“Their remains were later deposited in the mortuary and I was made to understand that investigation into the matter was ongoing.

“Even the Ughelli Divisional Police Officer was here to see things for himself. Further investigation into the incident revealed that the deceased couple’s wedding was slated for 22 November 22nd. They were also said to have already began preparations and given out invitation cards".
