A few days after the reconciliation meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Department of State Security, DSS, has returned the seized passport of the emir back to him.
The State Director of the State Security Services, SSS, Bassey Etang on Saturday handed over the two travelling passports to the Kano emir at his palace. The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kwankwaso on Chieftaincy and Emirate Council Affairs, Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya, confirmed that Emir Sanusi has received his passport.
He said the Emir Sanusi got back his travelling passports on Saturday morning. It would be recalled that Emir Sanusi’s diplomatic passport was seized at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos when he returned from Niger Republic, while his local passport was seized at the Aminu Kano International Airport when he was about boarding Turkish Airlines to France.
