ELECTION VIOLENCE: 6 Killed At Campaign Rally

One villager has been killed in Dogo Fadama Village in Mariga Local government area of Niger State over the weekend during a fracas between the villagers and a political party in the state

It was learnt that trouble started when some of the hoodlums started protesting over the presence of the party in the village.
The protest later degenerated into fracas between the political party and the villagers.
Among those injured were the villagers, and the members of the campaign team.

One of those who sustained serious injury later died in the hospital.
As at the time of this report, six persons allegedly involved in mastermiding the fracas involved in the fracas have been arrested.
When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the Niger state Police Command, Ibrahim Gambari, confirmed the incident but said that the police was not aware of any reprisal attack from the campaign team of PDP.
