Loretta Lynch, was confirmed in the Senate 56 to 43, earning votes from all the Democrats and 10 Republicans. U.S Republican presidential candidate, Ted Cruz, opposed her appointment, proclaiming her “unfit” for the job.


The 43 Republicans said they voted against her because of their anger over Obama’s recent executive action on immigration, which would provide deportation relief for up to 1.8m undocumented immigrants. A policy Lynch would have to defend in her new role…
