According to reports from NGTrentds, there will be no flight operations in all the airports in Nigeria as all terminals will be out of operation. The airport unions threatened on October 22, 2015 that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will be closed at Sunday midnight to stop the operations scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2015.
The strike action is as a result of certain defaults on the part of the NCAA which contravene the conditions of service in the industry.
The unions in a letter released to their members on October 21, 2015 alleged NCAA of not adhering to the condition of service in the areas of workers’ promotion and other welfare issues.

The Secretaries General of NUATE and NAAPE, Comrades Olayinka Abioye and Aba Ocheme jointly signed the letter and further threatened to close down the agency from midnight Sunday till further notice.
Also, the unions stated that the action of the Director General of NCAA, Captain Muhtar Usman, breached section 3.4 of conditions of service.
Below is an extract from the letter:
“By the copy of this notice, the general public is hereby informed of this development and the implications that all safety regulations activities of the NCAA will be unavailable from that time and date. The above notice will remain in force until otherwise directed by the secretariat of our unions.”
