See Why This Lady Says She Must Bleach

                            
Bleaching has almost become a norm of the day. I'm pondering why is it so....from what I have gathered from every excuses and reasons given it all points at low self esteem,
I looked up for the dictionary meaning of self esteem and i got this

confidence in one's own worth or abilities; self-respect.

Then I checked for the meaning of Low self Esteem and this what i also got

A person with low self-esteem feels unworthy, incapable, and incompetent. In fact, because the person with low self-esteem feels so poorly about him or herself, these feelings may actually cause the person's continued low self-esteem.

Then I ask myself, what if you show "confidence in one's own worth or abilities; self-respect" and no one is noticing it all because you are not lighter in complexion, then what? let me put it this way 2 friends, step out 1 light and the other 1 dark. They head out together and the light 1 gets more compliment and attention than the other, how is the dark one suppose to feel? More questions is directed to the light one and she's responding and the dark 1 who is silent as not much question is thrown at her is referred to as the quiet one or possibly the one which the low self esteem. If she decides to speak out without being asked questions she is referred to as "Notice me" or "Over sabi"

In this context it won't be out of place to say low self esteem has been imposed on her (the dark girl). According to Aristotle the legendary Greek philosopher

Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Society is something that precedes the individual.” 

What that back in the days young man (Aristotle) meant was that "Man" (referring to either man or woman) needs the society to feel alive. Man naturally likes to be noticed. Man likes to be complimented et el.

In my short scenario above (about the dark girl who is given low to none attention) would want to do something to be noticed. it is natural instinct. Peacock spread their wings for attention so it wont be out of a place if a lady tries to get attention. Some try to be smarter, intelligent, outspoken and all other qualities that is attractive. While others would opt to bleach to get attention too. The difference is One took a wise decision and the other took a not too wise decision.

Society criticizes women that take unwise decision to bleach and am asking is there anyone who hasn't taken an unwise decision? John 8:7

 "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!" 

In my opinion low self esteem doesn't drive a lady to bleach but the society does (YOU AND I). For every time you see a fair lady and say wow she is pretty and any other time u made a fair lady feel special you contributed to a lady bleaching. You inspired the cosmetic industry to produce more of this creams. You made them make the creams so expensive to eke more money.

My Suggestion
We should not give more priority to fair lady, every other thing will fall in place....
