Properties Eorth millions of Naira destroyed as Fire razes Singer Market in KANO

An Early morning fire has gutted part of Singer Market, an international market for foodstuffs in Kano. According to eyewitnesses, the fire which started in the wee hours of Friday (yesterday) morning lasted for about five hours before it was put out by firefighters. 

It was gathered that the fire started and ended at a store situated in Danlami Alasan House, which lost items worth over N20 million. While no life was lost property worth millions was gutted down by the fire. 

The Acting Director of the State Fire Service, Alhaji Balarabe Kabara, said the cause of the fire is yet to be known. “The fire started around 1:40 am and was put out around 7:00 am. No life was lost but items worth millions of naira were destroyed,” he said.
