A man was arrested on charges of inducing panic after allegedly telling workers at a casino that his wife has Ebola, police in Ohio said. Cleveland Police said that 60-year-old Emanuel Smith, told a Horseshoe Casino dealer that he was dodging his sick former wife, who had traveled to West Africa.

According to the police investigation, Smith and his former wife do not have Ebola, and they have not traveled to Africa. An attorney for Smith said that his client’s comments were blown out of context. Smith was also charged with trespassing and entering a fun place to cause a disturbance.

Officials temporarily closed the casino where Smith played, and reported the incident to the Centers for Disease Control and local health departments. Smith was ordered to stay away from the casino and his bail was set at $10,000.
