Okorocha presents N141bn budget

The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has presented a budget proposal of 141bn for the 2015 fiscal year which is N3.5bn higher than the 2014 budget. 

The Budget which is titled ‘Budget of total Rescue and Sustainability” is derived from the Rescue Mission Agenda of the present administration anchored on a four-year development plan. 

According to Okorocha, 43% of the budget was allocated to recurrent expenditure while 57% would go for capital projects. Okorocha said the slight increase in the recurrent expenditure plan is to effectively take care of the workers’ welfare. 

He said the government would focus on job creation, industries and empowerment as well as agro-based industries.
