The passengers' luggage was searched after customs officials detected irregularities in the luggage and they found unused $100 bills. The money was detained as it was undisclosed/undeclared and above the prescribed legal limit for bringing cash into the country. This happen on Friday.
The men said they were going to use the money to buy weapons and they acting on behalf of the Nigerian intelligence service, but this could not be confirmed by the country's authorities.
The group also had documents confirming they were in South Africa to buy arms.
It was unclear whether the Israeli passenger was an intelligence operative or an arms dealer.
The National Conventional Arms Control Committee, which approves permits for the import and export of weapons, was not aware of any applications made for such a transaction.
According to US Aviation Administration register, the aircraft Challenger with registration number H808G was registered in the name of Bank of Utah Trustees last year. The address in the register address was given as Salt Lake city, US. Aviation industry insider claim same "owners" have been involved in aircraft controversy in aircraft in Africa.

The aircraft is said to be used by Swat Inc in Abuja, but no such details could be found.
