If I Was Broke I’d Sell a Grammy or an MTV Award- Mathew Knowles

Last week, it was reported that Beyonce and Solange’s father, Mathew Knowles was broke and had taken to selling their old souvenirs to make a living. Now Mathew is clapping back at those who speculated that he was broke in a recent interview with a Houston news outlet.

“Somehow that became we are going out of business, homeless and selling all of Beyoncé’s stuff to stay alive, which as you can see it’s just the opposite,” he said in an interview.

“If I needed money, I wouldn’t sell $ 5 T-shirts,” Knowles said. “I’d sell a Grammy or an MTV award. So that is insulting to think we need to sell $ 5 T-shirts. No, I don’t think so.”

On why he sold those items , Mathew claims he needed the space and will probably only take home $ 2,000 from the sales. No word on if he plans on giving his daughter a cut of that money.
