A church in Oklahoma, decided to give away beer during services in order to attract new members. Last weekend, the East Side Christian Church of Tulsa, invited the public for beer for the first time.
A spokesperson for the church said that the service was designed as an outreach event.
“It’s an opportunity to reach a wide demographic of people to ask questions about what is happening in our Christian world, what is happening in our churches and what is happening in our community,” the spokesperson said. They discussed the future of the Christian church beyond the 21st century.
“Everyone is welcome. No questions are prohibited. No holds barred. Just come and respect the opinions of others. Just having a good honest conversation about God, while having a couple of beers,” posters about the event read. At the door, identifications were checked in order to prevent underage drinking, and a limit of three beers per person was enforced.
